The finale of the 2018 Akarua Millbrook Masters was hosted at the Millbrook Resort with a gala dinner and entertainment by the Hamiltones. Winners were awarded prizes across stableford and teams competitions.
The Millbrook Masters was reduced to 3 rounds after challenging weather conditions closed Jacks Point for Round 4.
The ladies division was taken out by Margie Dash (The Hills) on 308 points. Margie is a regular visitor to the Millbrook Masters and had 3 consistent rounds of 33,37 and 38 to win by 1 point over newcomer Christine Fleury from Waitemata. Third place was Su Hyun Park (Royal Auckland) om 101 points c/b from Janet Myers (Cambridge) also on 101 points. Fifth was Michelle Park (Waitemata) on 97 points.

New in 2018 was a teams competition which was a lot of fun. In first place was the 'Smelly Roos' on 335 points, clear winners over Team Mojo on 309 points and a mixed Aussie/Kiwi Team on 308 points.
Winner of the Putting Competition sponsored by TaylorMade was Jeff Moulsdale with 14 putts over 2 rounds of the Par 3's at Millbrook. Jeff was the victor after a 4-way tie created a fun putting time trial shootout.
Our selected charity for the tournament is the NZ Motor Neurone Disease Association and the NZ Brain Research Centre at Auckland University lead by Sir Richard Faull. Funds raised from the tournament was $2,580 which 100% will be donated to this very worthy cause to find a cure for MND. Winner of the charity lucky prize draw to Fiji was Barbara Ell from The Australian GC. Barbara, in fact, also made a significant personal contribution to the fundraising activity. Thank you to 'The Dame'.
