2024 Golf NZ Womens Senior Championships

The 2024 New Zealand Women’s Senior Championships will be hosted by the Rotorua Golf Club (also known as Arikikapakapa) at the slightly earlier time than normal, due to the potential of many top players going onto Taupo for the 2024 Trans Tasman.

Overview

The 2024 New Zealand Women’s Senior Championships will be hosted by the Rotorua Golf Club, also known as Arikikapakapa. The Arikikapakapa course is, by any yardstick, unique and there is a strong sense of pride amongst members, and a resolve to protect what they have and enhance the playing features as time and money allow. The geothermal uniqueness of this Rotorua golf course has earned it an international reputation, not to be missed in your golf career in NZ.

 

Arikikapakapa is a full 18 hole, par 70 course providing variety and challenge with many holes played over and around both dormant and active thermal areas. This is an all-weather links-style course with easy walking and an excellent golfing layout.

 

Noted that the schedule of next years tournament is at the slightly earlier time, to allow selected representatives from New Zealand and Australia that might be in the field to compete in the 2024 Trans Tasman, the following week in Taupo. 

 

This will be the 76th year of the NZ Women’s Senior Championship and the programme includes a qualifying round, competing for three trophies, before three rounds of match play in eight divisions. Winners after three rounds will play on in the finals, in all divisions including flights and plates. The top division competes in “off- the-stick” match play: all other divisions compete in handicap match play.

 

The tournament is managed by PaR nz Limited t/as PaR nz Golfing Holidays under the auspices of Golf New Zealand  Inc. 

 

The field will be limited to the first 128 paid entries received.   Entries will open by the 1st September, 2023, or earlier - all on line via DotGolf.

Welcome / Opening

Tuesday 6 February  5.30pm – 7.00pm in the clubhouse

 

Prize Giving

The tournament prize giving will be held in conjunction with dinner after play on Friday 9 February at Rotorua Golf Club, commencing at 7.00pm.

 

Eligibility

Open to all affiliated WOMEN golfers – aged 50 and over as the first day of the tournament. Women’s handicap - Maximum index of 40.4 or an overseas equivalent.  Refer the Golf NZ standard Tournament Conditions for the full list of eligibility criteria.

Entry Fees

$200 Tournament entry per player includes welcome reception  

$77 Tournament Shirts booked with entry includes Golf NZ logo (FJ brand)

$45 per person for the final dinner / prize giving
