We invite golfers from New Zealand, Australia and further afield seeking the chance to tick Kauri Cliffs off their ‘Bucket List’, to  play in the 8th annual Copthorne Bay of Islands 4 Course Golf Classic. 

 

Dates set for Monday 19 May – Friday 23 May 2025

 

An extensive tournament package includes 4 rounds of spectacular golf playing one of New Zealand’s best courses, Kauri Cliffs in carts (#37 in Golf Digest World Top 100 Greatest Golf Course Rankings), Waitangi, Bay of Islands Kerikeri and Whangaroa. The 4 rounds of golf will be played over 5 days, Monday to Friday, with a rest day scheduled for Wednesday so you can explore the region. 

 

Stay at the tournament hotel for the week at the Copthorne Bay of Islands Resort, our naming sponsor and tournament hub. The Resort is a 4-star property located right on the harbour with ocean views and is central to the 4 golf courses, cafes, restaurants and local tourist attractions.

Our programme is action packed for the week! 

  • We start the week on Sunday 18 May with Registration, wine tastings and ‘Flavours of the Pacific’ canapes at Charlotte’s Kitchen on the Paihia Wharf. 

  • We finish the week on Friday 23 May at the Copthorne Resort with a Prize Giving Dinner (Pirates theme) included in your package.

  • A sumptuous buffet lunch is included after your round at Kauri Cliffs, overlooking the Pacific Ocean with a glass of local wine – can’t get much better!

  • In 2025 we feature 3 optional extra functions: -

    • Monday night 19 May is our ‘Fish & Chips’ Pub Quiz Night at the Copthorne Hotel. Your chance to dine on some great local seafood with your team of 4 for a bit of trivia fun!

    • Tuesday night 20 May is our ‘Asian Fusion’ Night @ Charlotte’s Kitchen – tapas style foods

    • Mid-week on Wednesday 21 May join us on the Russell Ferry to visit the historic Duke of Marlborough Hotel for dinner. This will be a wonderful dining experience in New Zealand’s oldest hotel (established 1827).

 

 Limited to the first 200 golfers entered, the tournament is open to men and women golfers, ages 20+, maximum handicap limits of 36.0 for men and 40.4 for women apply. The competition format is single Stableford, playing in handicap divisions with an added Gross competition for low markers. There are fun daily prize giving as well as an overall prize table.

Let us know with your entry if you are travelling with friends and we will ensure you play on the same course rotation across the week.  For the daily draws all players are mixed up. For your special round at Kauri Cliffs, we will draw you with your friends / partners.

 

Consider pre or post to the event - extra rounds at Te Arai - two new exceptional courses, South & North.

 

Activities available on the rest day include a Hole in the Rock Dolphin Cruise, a Cape Reinga Day trip with Fullers Great Sights and the opportunity to visit the fascinating Waitangi Treaty Grounds and Māori War Museum. Try a ferry day trip, dolphin watching to Otehi Bay on Urupukaka Island.
