2024 highlights from the PaR nz Team - we played 93 different courses around the world in Japan, South Africa, Canada, Abu Dhabi, Ireland, Scotland, France, Fiji, Vietnam and Australia as well of course, many Kiwi fairways. The target was 100 – not quite there but close – it was fun to give it a crack – we’ll try again in 2025.
We have now raised over $300k towards the research for a cure to Motor Neuron Disease – our chosen charity – specifically the work that Sir Richard Faull and his team at the Centre for Brain Research – we wish them godspeed in finding a cure soon.
In 2024, PaR nz managed and hosted over 2000 golfers and supporters at tournaments and events around New Zealand, in the Bay of Plenty, Rotorua, Rangiora, Waiuku, Bay of Islands, Walton, Hawkes Bay, Queenstown, Motueka, Auckland and Fiji.
We are delighted to continue associations and partnerships with Millbrook and in particular the Millbrook members group, Paraparaumu Beach Golf Links, St Andrews of Hamilton, the Omokoroa Twilight series and Ngaruawahia 6’s and Women's 4 Ball Tournament.
Highlights – there have been so many? Experiencing Japan, the wildlife on our South African Golf & Safari, introducing the Danang 6’s – and what a great 10 days was held in this golf Mecca. We got to meet Nick Faldo, Greg Norman and John Daley at The Open in Royal Troon and toured a fabulous array of links courses in Ireland including Adare Manor which will host the Ryder Cup in 2027. But the real highlight was the France Golf Tour and attending the 33rd Summer Olympics held in Paris, 3 days at Le Golf Nationale. The absolute show-stopper watching Lydia win the gold medal and then seeing her later at New Zealand House located on the Champs-Elysees – a real thrill and privilege.
Happy new year golfers and all the best for your time on the fairways in 2025.
