PaR nz Wins Again - Dec24' Summer Blog

PaR nz - Summer Blog – 1 Dec 2024

PaR nz Wins International Golf Award, again!

We are delighted to start our summer blog with the announcement that PaR nz Golfing Holidays have won the 2024 World Golf Awards for Best Inbound and Best Outbound Golf Tour Operator for New Zealand.

Announced at an international Gala Ceremony in Madeira, the World Golf Awards  recognises and rewards excellence in golf tourism.  We have now won 13 international golf tourism awards – and yes, we are pretty stoked.  After 24+ years in business, it is a recognition of what we love doing, golfing in New Zealand and around the world, with you – our local clients, friends, suppliers and colleagues. Thank you.

The 2024 year is slowly wrapping up for us – with Xmas Cheer Days to be celebrated with our club partners Hamilton and Paraparaumu along with two charity days at Windross for MND and the Susie Simcock Leadership Award.  We look forward to playing in our PaR nz sponsored Omokoroa Twilight Series and the 3rd PaR nz Monthly Millbrook Members Medal in December and that will be us for 2024.

Looking to 2025 and beyond.  We are excited that many of our international tours for 2025 have sold out but do register your interest now for our 2026 tours if you are keen to join us in Japan, South Africa, Canada, Spain, Portugal, Morocco and - Italy & Greece - our new tour destination. Look out for tour releases in the New Year.

Final places up for grabs to Ireland in July 2025 for  the 153rd Open back at Royal Portrush. Bula Fiji is selling with a special Black Friday / December special – if you book before the 13th December, you will receive a dozen Titleist Pro V1 golf balls – just in time to fill your Xmas stockings.

Tasmania 2025 will be released this coming month, including  the  new Seven Mile Beach course in Hobart– exciting!

Lastly, we confirm that in 2025, PaR nz will be taking a step back from running a number of national amateur tournaments for Golf New Zealand. After 23+ years of hosting these events around a variety of wonderful clubs in New Zealand we feel its time to hand back the reins to the team at the national body. We counted back all the tournaments over the years and it amounted to over 175 national events!

From being involved with the NZ Open and IMG in 2000, to the event management of the infamous Tiger Woods 2002 Open @ Paraparaumu, to being employed by Women’s Golf New Zealand and then onto New Zealand Golf and now Golf New Zealand, its time for someone else to ensure these very popular and hugely satisfying national tournaments continue on.

We are still heavily invested in the game in New Zealand of course!  Coming up in January is the 2025 Barfoot & Thompson Bay of Plenty 5-Course Classic and in May the 2025 Copthorne Bay of Islands 4-Course Classic.  Entries are still open for these great multi-course tournaments  enter now www.parnz.co.nz/kiwi-golf

An update on our personal 2024 challenge to play 100 different golf courses in a year – after playing the wonderful Rosanna Golf Course in Melbourne on Friday we are up to 90, so ten to go before 31 December – the race is on.

That’s our summer blog – happy December and January golfing – hope we see you on some fairway soon.  Make sure you hit them straight & few!
