Hastings Golf Club was in great condition as it played host to Round 1 of the 2023 Trinity Hill Hawkes Bay 54 Hole Classic. It was a windy start to the tournament which contributed to only 10% of scorecards being 36pts or better!
Best Stableford scores were posted by Murray Hepple from Heriot (37pts) and Kevin Bearsley (36pts) from Titirangi. Martinborough's Alison Tipler had the best score of the day with 40 Stableford points followed by Ruth Rennie (38pts) Waiheke Island.
Off the stick, best gross scores of the day were a 74 recorded by Waka Donnelly a local from Napier and a 79 from North Shore's Taigon Kim. In the womens division, best gross of the day was an 86 by Joanne McDonald from New Plymouth and an 88 from Donna Verryt (Walton).
NTP prizes sponsored by Titleist were won by Dave Dewe, Emil Versalko, Barbara Godfrey, Ruth Rennie.
For Round 1 there were 6 x 2's recorded - each player will receive 4 x Titleist PRO V1 each = Emil Versalko, Barbara Godfrey, Joanne Wilton-Eadie, Caroline Allum, Ruth Rennie, Donna Verryt.
For Round 2 on Tuesday 3rd October the field will play at Cape Kidnappers and Maraenui. Good luck!
