Tuesday 28 November was Round 1 Matchplay of the 2023 NZ Women's Senior Foursomes at Fairview GC. After Monday's qualifying round the pairings were seeded by nett into 4 divisions - some interesting results were posted after Round 1. Top seeds Tania Appelman & Sharon McGeown from Motueka were beaten by the 16th seeds Jo-Anne Loe (Martinborough) & Pru Bell (Nelson). Even the 2022 defending champions Kay Buckeridge (Fairview) and Christine Van Veen (Mercury Bay) were beaten by the strong pairing of Anthea Moriarty and Laonie Bodger (North Shore)
